Meaning of life
Our life is like the drop of water on a lotus leaf. If we tilt the leaf a little , the water falls off. Hence we have to live our life on certain principles laid down by the Nature. Our vedic scriptures call these principles as Purusharthas. These are Dharma, Artha , Kama and Moksha. While we have to abide by the first three principles the last one Moksha (Liberation ) will be result of our doings. Dharma, the principle of righteousness, means to do our duties on the regulatory order of the universe. Artha means to earn for our living based on this principle and Kama means our desires and aspirations for the welfare of all.It is told that the best gift one person can give is to forgive one who has hurt you. Controlling the senses is the best valor (bravery) a person can show.Likewise,a portion of your earnings should be utilized for others, for the welfare of needy. If people live as per these principles there will be harmony and this world will become a peaceful and happy place to live in.
